I have heard from many persons how thrilling and magical the city of Orlando is but little did I know how accurate these statements were. My experience with the home of Walt Disney World was indeed a blast! Due to limited occupancy I was only able to visit a few sights which I will gladly share with you. My pitt stops included Universal Studios, SeaWorld and ICON Park but first lets take in a little history of the magical city.

Orlando History

Orlando size is estimated at area of 113.75 square miles and the country began with plantations, cattle ranches and orange groves then transformed into thrill rides, fine dinning, entertainment, superior shopping, cultural and natural attractions. Orlando is situated and surrounded by lakes 60 miles northwest of Melbourne and 85 miles northeast of Tampa. Orlando is the home of Hispanic and Asian-American residents, the local culture and history is influenced throughout the country via various yearly celebrations of these residents. The majority of the city’s economy is made up of Tourism, conventions and trade shows.

My first two stops at SeaWorld theme park was Sea-World and Aquatica, the theme park consists of three individual parks namely:

  • SeaWorld; consists of sea-life, food festivals, live shows, world class coasters
  • Discovery Cove: connect/swim with dolphins, snorkel with rays, hand feed animals (exotic birds)
  • Aquatica: water slides both daring and relaxing

I was mesmerized by these adorable skillful dolphins while they entertained; they were so engaged, attentive and seems to enjoy themselves all in the process. I was transformed to my childhood days filled with so much joy when I saw the characters from my favorite and only childhood tv show – Sesame Street. Sea-World parks are jam packed with activities to engage adults as well as kids. Apart from the live shows scheduled every hour, there are sea-life aquariums plus thrilling rides to occupy you every second of the day. I was in my element with not a minute to spear – entertained and intrigued throughout the whole experience.

Aquatica was my next stop..omgee!! Exactly what the doctor ordered. The water rides were out of this world. As I get older I have become less daring to hop on the tallest or most bone chilling ride. However I have just a tad bit of daring left so I did a few but my happy place was the “lazy river”. That river gave me a relaxation that is a rare find, we became besties in a very short time. I must admit I have been to several water parks in the past but Aquatica has been my best ever! I can stay at that park forever.

Next pit stop was Universal Studios – Universal Studios comprises of three theme parks as well; namely:

  • Universal Studios – literally a movie set playground; tv shows and movies characters with twists and turns
  • Islands of Adventure – thrilling rides with super heros and magical creatures
  • Volcano Bay – waterpark

So my choice of above park was Volcano Bay but unfortunately I could not get in due to unavailability however I made the best of it by exploring Universal City Walk – the area is burst of excitement filled with mouth watering dinning and dessert options, unique bars, superior shopping and live shows on the water. City Walk totally filled the void and allowed me to forget that I did not get into to Volcano Bay action. I enjoyed every minute of my time there and must return to sample some more restaurant and bar options.

Icon Park was next on the adventure. Icon Park is an Entertainment complex with a collection observation wheels, the wheel takes you on an 18 minute ride to allow for a birds eye view of Orlando’s skyline. Icon Park consist of five (5) sights:

  • Madame Tussauds Orlando
  • Aquarium
  • Star Flyer
  • 7D Dark Ride and Adventure
  • Pearl Express Train

The famous Walt Disney World was my last pit stop however due to unforeseen circumstances I again could not get in to my chosen park (EPCOT) but I can still share the details of this amazing park for your next visit. Walt Disney World is an entertainment complex that bring fictional characters to life. The park consists of six (6) theme parks:

  • Magic Kingdom
  • EPCOT – Experience different countries food & culture
  • Disney Hollywood Studios
  • Animal Kingdom
  • Disney Typhoon Lagoon – waterpark
  • Disney Blizzard Beach – waterpark

Yes beautiful people this was a window view of my Orlando adventure despite a few setbacks I had an amazing time and must return to tick off the places I missed. Hopefully I have convinced you that Orlando should now be placed on your travel list. I hope you enjoyed the journey as much as I did. Be sure to hop on another one of my future adventures!! I await your juicy feedback for the above article!

Peace and Blessings xxoo
