For all in doubt today I am here to clear the air. Life Coaches and Therapists are not the same, let us start by defining the two terms:

Life coach is a certified professional with the sole purpose of motivating and guiding clients in handling life challenges. They act as an accountability partner to develop tools that activate goals into to reality. Life Coaches mainly focus on subjects regarding self discovery, passion, purpose, career, family, health, wellness, happiness, accountability, vision and lots more. They assist clients in reaching their ultimate goals however allow the clients to make final decisions and put all the work in, all in a safe and comfortable environment.

Therapist is a licensed mental health professional who assists clients in developing cognitive and emotional skills to reduce symptoms of mental illness. And these new skills will eventually aid them in improving their well-being and mental health. They are skilled in special kinds of therapy. Therapists duties include diagnosing the clients, treating and rehabilitating patients.

Role of Life Coach

  • Developing and preparation of actionable plans
  • Sharing tools and techniques for problem solving
  • Recognizing customer skill sets
  • Be a sounding board for customers
  • Guiding customers on goal achievement at their comfort level
  • Provide encouragement and constructive feedback
  • Allowing customers to refocus on the way challenges may look at the moment

Role of Therapist

  • Diagnose and evaluate patients
  • Personalized treatment plans
  • Provide regular counseling and treatments sessions
  • Develop a trusting relationship with patients
  • Ongoing assessment of patients progress
  • Recommend appropriate medications
  • Monitor the quality of care for patients

True story – About the author

My professional background has always been Hotel and Tourism, however over the years of great experience in that field I have never felt completely fulfilled. Dig Deep Self Discovery Coaching was birthed in the pandemic year 2020 when I decided to hire a life coach to assist me with accomplishing some pending items on my to-do-list. During the process of my one on one sessions with my life coach – I realized that I was fully capable of providing the same service to others; and it came pretty natural to me. I was immediately inspired and motivated to use my life experience to help others.

I am Tracy Cyril; a certified life coach. My Company’s name is: Dig Deep Self Discovery Coaching. My services are available to individuals in the age range 25-65 years; males or females, self-employed, retirees or individuals who just feel stuck at this time in your life. We focus on self discovery, uncovering your passion and purpose, self-accountability, highlighting your skill set and creating positive wellness and well-being.
