What is salt therapy?

Salt therapy is a holistic treatment which involves inhaling of pharmaceutical dry salt in a comfortable and controlled environment. The process takes places when a halo-generator circulates microscopic salt particles in an enclosed location.

Salt therapy can heal the following ailments

  • stress
  • lack of sleep
  • ear infections
  • inflammation

Salt therapy treatment was developed in 1843 by a Polish Physician. Upon close observation he realized that salt mines workers were free from respiratory or lung complications in comparison to other mines workers. It is at that moment the inhalation of salt showed strong signs as a healing agent to common respiratory ailments. And then the natural remedy of Salt therapy was birthed and explored.

After much research on this wellness candy called salt therapy; there were several inconsistencies regarding whether the treatment actually heals common ailments so being the curious soul that I am; I tried it at least three times. I am here to tell you the first experience was not great!

During the process you sit in a room that exudes calm, relaxation and comfort. Immediately your body responds to the environment and unwinds. The room floor and walls are literally salt; the salt penetrates through your skin, lungs and suppose to do its magic. However as soon as the machine started disbursing the salt I felt intense burning sensation through my nose which was short lived but seems like forever. The moment I became completely relaxed and dose into a beautiful sleep my time was up. Post first treatment I felt a slight change, experience longer sleep at nights and less issues with allergy related symptoms.

Second and third treatments I noticed more positive changes in relations to congestion, sleep, headaches and breathing. So I am a believer that Salt therapy does help manage smooth respiratory and lung functioning. The team member was sure to mention that for the treatment to be effective several consistent sessions were required. So there you have it! My two cents on salt therapy, I will try to make my sessions more consistent since I have some other ailments that still needs to healed and managed.
