I have popped in and out of West Palm Beach in the past without soaking up the diversity of the city. The moment is here where I made it happen and I am here to share with you. As you know I am big on culture and history, I believe a city’s history is imperative to help create its future and measure its progress. So let us take some history before the fun begins.

History

West Palm Beach is home to the sunny palm lined streets, scenic neighborhoods, waterfront view and exciting year round outdoor activities. It is the oldest incorporated municipality in South Florida. West Palm is 13 feet above sea level and has an area of 57.69 square foot. In 2021 an estimated populated of 120, 915 was recorded. Henry Morrison Flager in 1893 transformed Palm Beach to a resort and built a commercial city across the lake for his workers. That “city” eventually became West Palm Beach.

The Inlet island was created in 1918 and was transformed to Peanut Island for the purpose of a terminal used for shipping peanut oil. There are daily ferries from West Palm Beach to peanut island. Be sure to pack your refreshments because you are literally on an island with beautiful water and land.

Norton Museum of Art

This is the largest museum in the state known for wide collection of local and international diverse art. Concentration in American, Chinese and European contemporary art and photography. The collection includes over 7000 pieces. There is also a Sculpture garden at this museum.

So beautiful people I was able to take in some of the sites mentioned but the extensive list I recommended I still have a few of them to explore. The purpose of this article is to inform you of the beauty and diversity that West Palm Beach has to offer and to urge you to put in on your travel list to experience it yourself. It is a beautiful and vibrant city – I had an amazing time but definitely feel like I still have some unfinished business with the Palm Tree central! Love and Light
